Adobe announces Acrobat XI Pro
Yesterday Adobe announced the latest version of their ever popular Acrobat product – Acrobat XI Pro. Scheduled to ship later this month, Acrobat XI Pro touts several enhancements along with a few new features of interest to those who need to re-purpose PDF files. With XI Pro, users can now convert PDF files into editable Powerpoint slides, thus completing the Microsoft Office support trifecta – as Acrobat also exports PDF content to Word and Excel.
Additionally users can now edit and re-flow text within Acrobat without the need for 3rd party tools such as Enfocus Pitstop. As well, Acrobat XI Pro can export PDF files optimized for reading on mobile devices. A nod to enterprise users, Acrobat XI Pro can now be deployed and managed within Citrix XenApp and Microsoft App-V virtualization environments. Likewise the imminent Acrobat XI reader will be available as an App for both iOS and Android.
I’ll be working with this new Acrobat over the coming weeks for an upcoming review in Print Action magazine. Stay tuned for insights and tips, and of course expect the full review to be posted here once published in Print Action.
UPDATE – I reviewed Acrobat XI Pro for the December 2012 edition of Print Action magazine. You can read a PDF of the article here.
