Radio
Back in 2004 I produced a weekly radio programme for a local Calgary cable FM station called Radio Radio. My programme typically spanned two CDs, running nearly 2h30min. The programmes presented an eclectic mix of music spanning jungle and jazz to electronic and post-rock. As this show was actually broadcast on FM in Calgary, the individual episodes have never been offered as a downloadable podcast, that is until now.
I’m planning to remaster each programme into a single high-quality 128 kbps MP3 file. I’d like to go with a higher bitrate, but the resulting file size of the programme would be prohibitive. As it is, the 128 bit version is about 140mb for a 2 1/2 hour show.
Warning: SoftCircus blogger Midtoad commented that when clicking a link for Defaultworld Radio on his Android smartphone, it wanted to download the full 140+mb MP3 file of the show over his mobile data connection. It should stream, but it might not depending on your browser and configuration. Seeing how most of us have CRAP data plans on our smartphones, you might download the show at home and copy it to your media device… I’ll work on a fix on my end!

Actually Zac, my mobile data plan is a big, fat pipe 5GB wide, so it’s no problem to stream or download your shows, but anyone on the basic 500 MB plan should proceed with caution… or reckless abandon of the pocket-book!
what the hell is a pocket-book? is that one of those knock-off iPads?
There’s a rumour that DFW023 will soon re-appear. True?
