FridayPhile: Star Wars IV – The Fans’ Cut
If you hate special effect creations like Jar Jar Binks and think you can do better, then Star Wars Uncut (www.starwarsuncut.com) is for you.
Run by fans of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (the original), the website cuts the movie into 15 second video segments. Each video segment can be claimed by a fan for 30 days to do it better or different. The results are fan segments that vary from South Park cartoons to childrens plays to professional actors, and every mix in-between. The 15 second fan video segments are then voted on. The winners are compiled into a full length “Fans’ Uncut” movie version that can be watched.
Quirky and funny, this website took home the 2010 Primetime Emmy Award for Creative Achievement in Interactive Media – Fiction.
